Policy brief on distance learning and hybrid learning in Afghanistan

This policy brief which focuses on distance learning and hybrid learning follows the framework of the UNESCO – McKinsey Covid‐19 response toolkit1. It draws on the literature regarding the education response to Covid‐19 and discussions with colleagues from the Ministry of Education (MoE), development partners and the Education in Emergency Working Group (EiE WG) at a thematic workshop on hybrid learning/remote learning strategies on 6 January 2021. Drawing on an analysis of the implementation of the Alternative Learning Plan2 developed by the MoE, this policy brief provides actionable recommendations for the MoE to build a more flexible, resilient and accessible education system through reinforcing distance learning and hybrid learning systems.
