The root causes of violations of women’s rights and gender discrimination relate to the cultural, social, political and economic conditions present in a given society.
Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan has developed a booklet aimed to explain the different forms of gender discrimination, and its consequences, as well as to clarify women’s rights from the viewpoint of Islamic law and Afghanistan’s statutory laws.
